Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright (born 17 February 1991) is an English model, actress director, and activist. Wright is most famous for her performance in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. She was in the role for 10 years before moving on to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011). Wright was featured in a variety of independent films following the Harry Potter series. The films received not well-received. Wright made her debut on stage with Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth in 2013 at the Southwark Playhouse. In 2012, she graduated from University of the Arts London with a bachelor's in filmmaking. Her company was later established as her own production company, BonBonLumiere, and began making short films. Her first project she directed was the coming-of-age drama Separate We Come. Separate We We Go (2012). This film was released at Cannes Film Festival to high critical acclaim. She also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films focused on emotions and landscapes as the main themes. Wright's three-part series Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa's Ankles (2018), starring Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs was released by Wright. It is based upon A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She also produced music videos for musicians Sophie Lowe, Pete Yorn, and Scarlett Johansson. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace and Lumos, and has been recognized for her environmental activism.
