Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) she was Director of the national office at Mary Kay and Freddie
Wright who was a pharmacist executive. She was born and raised in San Diego.
She started her professional career as a model when she was 14 years old, and
was a model in Paris and Japan. She decided to be an actress when she finished
high school. She was given a role in Santa Barbara's soap-opera (1984), and she
was nominated for three daytime Emmy Awards. She became a fan of Dane Witherspoon
during the first season. They got married in the year 1986. In 1987, she played
the role of the title character in The Princess Bride. She was given the role
of Santa Barbara but left to appear in Denial (1990) alongside Jason Patric.
She was introduced to Sean Penn in 1990 while she was appearing in State of
Grace (1990). They had daughters Dylan Frances with him and the son was named
Hopper Jack. Robin returned to Hollywood following a break, and landed one of
her most memorable roles: Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was stunning and
flawless. In the following film, she played Toys (1992) in Toys (1992)
alongside Robin Williams, and she gave a funny performance. In 1994, Wright was
in the blockbuster sensation Forrest Gump (1994), alongside Tom Hanks. She
received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award in recognition of her
performance as Jenny. She got a small role in The Crossing Guard (1995) with
Jack Nicholson. After refusing 14 roles, she played the title character of
MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996), directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan
Freeman and Stockard Channing. She then starred alongside William Hurt in Erin
Dignam’s Loved (1997).
